Tailored to you, we'll have a 'virtual' cuppa and get planning. We'll find out your favourite colours, toys and what your little one loves to do for fun! Then we'll talk cake and make sure it's absolutely perfect for this special milestone.

Then we jump in the box for some boxtastic fun! Capturing your little one's special birthday in a stunning piece of wall art, so you can relive the joyful moments every single day and keep the memories alive forever.

Q Why is the cake naturally sweetened?

A During their first year, babies haven't tasted refined sugar and therefore aren't used to it so putting sugary icing in front of them is not going to work!  Instead let them enjoy familiar flavours.  We can even add their favourite fruit to the top.

Q How long does a session last?

A I always suggest allowing around two hours. I never book anyone in directly after you so that there’s absolutely no pressure and no rush.

Q What kind of things can we bring?

It’s lovely to include your child’s favourite things in your collection, we’ve had giant teddy bears, huge helium balloons and heirlooms such as a blanket that’s been handed down through the generation. We'll talk about this in your 'Have a Tea with Me' chat.

Q Can the whole family join in?

A Absolutely! Before we jump in the box we capture you all together as a family to celebrate this milestone together. 

Q What if my child won’t play ball?!

A I’m asked this all the time. Your little one is just 1 year old, they’ll be naturally inquisitive and will want to explore the studio. They can explore all they like and there’s no pressure for them to sit and pose. 

Q Why is a 1st birthday cake smash photoshoot important?

A Your baby has hit a big milestone! So many changes have happened in that first year and it's time to celebrate in a really fun way. It's also the only time in your life that it'll be acceptable to eat cake in this way too! So enjoy it and smile very time you look back at the memories.
